30 A series of events was organised under the motto âfrom protection to productionâ. Between 2010 and 2015, we were able to count 64 interventions around the world specifically related to income transfers related to social protection and agriculture (FAO 2016b). Besides this, in the report âState of World Food Insecurity 2015â, the most common recommendation was to combine social protection and pro-poor investments, mentioning the Brazilian PAA Africa programme as a flagship measure in this process (FAO et al. 2015). The report âAchieving Zero Hungerâ also highlighted the critical role of investment in social protection and agriculture, building on the âsuccessfulâ experiences of different countries (FAO 2015a). The theme was also chosen to frame World Food Day 2015, where the term âZero Hungerâ appeared in many speeches of the UN Directors (FAO 2015b, 2015c). In addition, the FAO produced a report recommending âgeneralising the Brazilian model of school feedingâ and for that it was proposed âto use SouthâSouth cooperation to share the Brazilian experience in school feeding in Latin America and the Caribbeanâ (Pye-Smith 2014).
